Our Teachers
All of our Teachers and Teachers in Training bring different backgrounds, all started with tango for different reasons but we have something in common – we all discovered the same passion of life: tango! We put special emphasis on the fact that our teachers can teach both roles and work with the same, structured and proven program, so that you can get maximum benefit during the lessons. Switching from one teacher to another is possible at any time as we diligently keep track of your progress.

“The moment when the student stops, looks at you with that dazzled look and exclames: I can’t believe it is so beautiful… – that moment is addictive. That’s why I teach.”
My strength is observing and understanding your tango, thus helping you improve and enhance it instantly. You should feel a strong difference already after one class.
We build together a basic structure for your dance, this is the automatic pilot which will keep you in the ronda, while enabling you to celebrate the music, create the addictive feeling of flow with your partners and add effortlessly distinctive elements when needed.
You can film yourself and send me a 60 sec take of your dancing, I will analyze it and make suggestions how to improve and why. It is not about single steps, but rather about structural pathways which open completely new possibilities. As any architect would make first a plan of the house you are going to build, I can illustrate (dance) your dance now and the way I can imagine it later, so we discuss and adjust any details.
Here you can read more about my teaching background. Teaching over thousand private classes every year and being obsessed with the dance quality of my students, I expect my own classes to be highly cost efficient: to help you improve throughly in record time.

“Tango is a sharing of emotion that through the embrace transforms two bodies into an entity that expresses itself by floating on the waves of music.”
I felt the passion for the dance when I was 8 asking my sister to teach me Ballet and modern dance. I continued with funky, hip hop, break dance till I was 16, then I started with Ballroom for 4 years where I won several competitions and after 2 years more of Salsa and bachata and finally at 22 I met the Tango. After 1 year I entered in a Tango company with who I made some show in a theater while I was training around 30 hours a week and I started to give my first class to beginners. During the next 11 years I made several workshops and seminary with the most known Argentinian Tango teachers while I was teaching and assisting class for all levels. From 2019 I started to teach for La Pantera (formerly Cuartito Azul Tango) where thanks to the big infrastructure of the school I could improve my teaching skills not only for group classes but also for my woman’s tecnic teaching methods thanks to the thousands of private classes that I gave in those 3 years.

For me, Tango is not just a way to dance or steps on the dance floor. It is a philosophy of life that we live every day in Argentina.
I have been connected with this beautiful dance for almost 20 years. I learned Tango in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and after years of studying with the greatest Masters of Argentine Tango, I started my career working, teaching, and dancing in different countries around the world – in Europe, Asia, and America. I have experience in both Tango salon and Tango stage.
Now, I have the opportunity to be based in Zurich and teach at the amazing Tango school “La Pantera”.
I can help you develop your Tango skills, from the basics to the highest levels and sensations. Let’s create a new paradigm in your dance. With my private lessons and customized practice programs, I can design a plan that suits your specific needs.

Dancing is an essential part of my life. After a few years of salsa, merengue and bachata, I found my way to the Argentine tango. From then on, there was no turning back – tango became my passion. That was more than ten years ago. Since then, several trips to Buenos Aires and many classes followed.
Today, when I dance tango, not matter if I dance the role of the leader or the role of the follower, sensitivity is most important to me. Sensitivity for the partner, sensitivity for the music, sensitivity for the surroundings as well as sensitivity for my own movements. This is also what I want to transmit as a teacher. I believe this multifaceted sensitivity is the key to a well rounded dance including a comfortable and functional embrace, which is the essence of tango and the greatest joy of this dance.
Thanks to my pedagogical education, I know exactly what quality teaching looks like and how to learn successfully. I also appreciate that one can always deepen the understanding of tango and learn new things.

“If creativity is the day and static is the night – then tango is the poem of twilight.”
My journey into dancing started a few years ago as a complete dance newbie with Lindy Hop. Immediately, so many things changed in my life and I couldn’t get enough of it!
The movement, the laughter, the escape from everyday life. It was amazing!
Curiosity was ignited deep within my cells. Shortly after, I also fell in love with Collegiate Shag and Solo Jazz. But what touched me the most, and still does, is Argentine Tango! And so, in the fall of 2018, Tango became a part of my life. One of the most beautiful aspects of Tango for me is the concentration and diversity. I could ask every dancer what the essence of Tango is for them, and they would all answer differently, yet I would understand and resonate with their answers.
In Tango, I have the freedom to interpret movement and expression. Because you make the dance into what you want it to be! In every dance class I attend, I discover something new, and with every Tango marathon I enjoy, I grow even more. Tango has become so intertwined with my body that I never want to be without it.

“Tango is a different way to live.“
Tango reveals essential truths about ourselves — things we could never discover unless we dance. It transforms us from within and reshapes our connection to the social environment around us.
To embrace another person and move together — without words, only with respect, silence, understanding, and the willingness to accept the other as they are. And the same in return.
For me, that is only possible with love.
Viviana is from Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has been an international tango teacher for more than 30 years, working mainly in Buenos Aires, New York, and across Europe. Now based in Zürich, she continues to teach, share, and live the essence of tango.

Ever since I took my first dance classes in 2008, I have been deeply in love with the world of leading and following, and of learning different “languages” to interact with partners through different dance styles. To explore this world, I sought every dance style that was common in the pair dance scene in Brazil: Forró, Samba de Gafieira, Bolero, Salsa, Zouk… Sadly Tango was not a specialty of the schools I frequented, so I never really studied it deeply at the time.
I also felt a strong drive to share this beautiful knowledge with people, and since 2011 I have been teaching Forró in different scenarios. This is still something I continue doing today, as I am one of the founders of a Forró school called Amarelo, here in Zurich.
It was through teaching Forró in Zurich that I met some students from the Tango scene, and one of these dear students pointed La Pantera as the best possible place to learn Tango.
Though I have started with Tango relatively recently (at the end of 2023), it quickly occupied a special place in my life, and today I am dedicating much of my nerd-power to study it more and help others in this journey.

Hello, welcome!
Thanks to my passion for the Brazilian dance “Forró”, I have also come into contact with other styles of social dance such as Samba de Gafieira, Zouk, Salsa, and the classic Argentine Tango!
Tango came into my life as a suggestion from my husband to experience something new together. And luckily, we found the best place and the best team!
Having excellent teachers who know how to teach you the movement, the feeling and what it’s like to dance in real life, makes learning much easier and more enjoyable!
I tell everyone that learning Tango is doing wonders for my dancing and my body awareness!

Refuse all cooperation with the heart’s death. Sing, if you can sing, and if not, still be musical inside yourself. (Mary Oliver)
I have been practicing Hatha Yoga and meditation for over 20 years – a practice that strengthens and mobilizes the body, but also promotes deep self-reflection and compassion. A few years ago, on a recommendation, I booked a trial lesson in Argentine tango at La Pantera Studio in Zurich and found that tango dance training was a continuation of my yoga practice and wonderfully combined everything I love: on the one hand, Argentine tango demands the utmost concentration and precision in movement and body awareness from the little toe to the crown of the head. On the other hand, the dance also nourishes the emotions: emotionality, a keen awareness of each other and thus also respect for your dance partner; no matter who this person is, known or unknown, old or young, all identities become irrelevant when dancing tango.
I am particularly fascinated by the synchronicity that arises in the dance—that moment when both partners glide across the dance floor in the same rhythm and flow. This state feels magical. It may not always be visible from the outside, but it can also happen in a beginner’s class. In that moment, you realize why you are making the effort to learn the sometimes complex steps. The effort is worth it!
Tango is more than just a dance: it is a dialogue supported by technique, feeling, mindfulness, trust, and strong togetherness. Argentine tango stimulates my intellect, my body, and my empathy for others; it convinces me just as strongly as yoga surprised me two decades ago with its holistic approach and became a necessity in my life.
I also draw on collaboration in my organizational and creative work in a team. Communication and teamwork are just as essential to me in my daily business as they are on the dance floor. When everyone clearly assumes their role and at the same time responds to others with openness, something greater emerges, something that carries you, gives you meaning and good energy.

Tango is mutual understanding and trust
“Why did I start dancing Argentine tango?” Like many others, I took a few ballroom and Latin dance classes when I was younger. Later, work and career development pushed dancing into the background for many years. Then, as so often in life, it was special circumstances and certain people that brought me back to it. And so, my Argentine tango journey began in early 2019 at La Pantera.
From the very beginning, Argentine tango fascinated me. The music, the melancholy, and the intensity of the rhythms had a unique pull. What makes it so special is the connection between the dancers — a constant give and take, a dialogue without words.
It’s not about the perfection of the steps, but about mutual understanding, trust, and shared experience in the here and now — with someone you may not even (really) know.
Tango requires patience, attentiveness, and sensitivity — qualities that are just as important in everyday life as they are on the dance floor.
